We know a LOT of businesses claim to put people first. It's a big statement. We truly believe it's the only way to build this company. Our founder suffers from chronic illnesses, neurodivergence, has a full time job, 7 pets, and is working towards adopting her first child. She knows how busy life is. It's important that this is a company where we can all unmask and be ourselves.

Our views on AI, especially Generative AI / LLMs.

Do you use Generative AI (LLMs) for your patterns / anything published?

Ink Woven Enchantment does not use LLM technology to:

  • Write patterns

  • Provide tech editing services

  • Create anything that we sell

  • Respond to emails, messages, or client questions

Do you ever use AI?

Yes! There are lots of reasons we might use other AI. While today, AI is seen in the general public to be directly associated with Generative AI, there are lots of other forms that may be useful! For example, our email provider may use an algorithm to determine if your email is spam or not. We may also use custom algorithms to help check math on a pattern.

A deeper note on Generative AI and Technology in general

Heather, our founder, is a technologist at heart and has been developing tools, technology, robots, and video games going all the way back to when she was just 10 years old. She strongly believes that not all ‘AI’ is bad. In fact, she has even written her own LLM trained on a very limited data set, long before ChatGPT existed. However, with current regulations and world impact, Ink Woven Enchantment stands with artists and creatives.

Until clean energy, water use, data impacts, data rights, and all other aspects of using Generative AI are regulated and their impacts better understood, Ink Woven Enchantment won’t be using Generative AI. It just doesn’t match up with how we want to create and grow in the world.
